Our Story

After 23 years in the high-tech industry, I experienced firsthand the frustrations that plague talent acquisition. Engineers being pigeonholed into limiting roles. Businesses waiting 45–100 days to find the right person. Recruiters who don’t understand technical requirements making critical decisions.

The turning point came during the 2008 recession when my business lost 50% of its revenue. Instead of retreating, I chose to “talk more” and collaborate differently. This approach led to breakthrough projects like specialized test equipment that finished 3 months ahead of schedule, earning Inc 5000 recognition three years in a row.

The JPL Moment

"When are you going to have an app to do this?"

That question from a JPL director changed everything. After interviewing project leads and program managers, one insight validated the need: a better talent connection process. They were tired of the outdated "search and seek submission method" that wasted time and money.

CoGen was born from this validation as a simple and scalable process engineers could rely on to enhance. No translation errors. No miscommunication. Just direct connections between people who understand the technical requirements and the value of specialized expertise.

We’re moving into an age of AI and higher levels of technology. We need to provide the right environment for our engineering resources to grow and provide the right solutions all the time.

One day, we envision a cybersecurity hub that connects engineers across the country, allowing them to work remotely on high-level projects without leaving their families. Imagine engineers who don’t have to relocate for great opportunities – they can stay home, be fulfilled, work longer hours, and provide better solutions.
